LIRA CITY,UGANDA|Political tension in lira city East division has James ocen calls for unity and peace during campaign and election period.
Hopeful members of parliament for Lira city East Division have asked the electorate to be very vigilant on the leaders they will vote for in the 2026 general election.
James Ocen who is holding UPC flag for general election was addressing mourners at Aguruwanya cell,Boroboro East Ward, Lira city East division.
Ocen said time has come for the electorate to vote for a true leader not just because of money though it will flow like water.
He said UPC since Obote’s regime they don’t use money for buying votes but positive manifesto.
He assured Uganda’s that UPC is more ready to take Uganda to another level when entrusted with leadership in all level
James Ocen who’s also the director for Premier and Faith secondary schools said Lira city is ready for change in all levels during the general election.
Ocen was answering alleged bad roads in the area where residents are using their hoes to repair the roads
He praised the residents of Aguruwanya most especially youth for exercising their right though road repair it’s for the government not individual.
Ocen said repairing roads is a sign of being patriotic and he asked youth to embrace helping where needed.
Concerning bad roads Ocen said the Uganda people’s Congress under stewardship of Jimmy James Michel Obote is ready to work on all roads in Uganda if trusted with leadership.
He assured the citizens to be ready for change since UPC have submitted all the signatures needed by the electoral commoner for nominations.
Denis Agema commonly known as Deno during the same burial he accused leaders of Lira city for leaving roads at a sorry state though Lira city has their own road equipment.
Recently mayor of Lira city Sam Atul assured the people of Lira city to be calm as they wait for graider which is under maintenance by the supplier.
