500 pregnant wemen in Maruzi North, Apac district have benefited from free medical services, organized by the Nrm aspirant for Maruzi North Member of Parliament, Bernard Otim Odoc.

‎The medical camp, held at the parish level across the constituency, saw expectant mothers receiving essential maternal supplies, including mama kits, aimed at improving safe delivery conditions.

‎Grateful beneficiaries praised the initiative, saying the intervention had come at a critical time.

‎Many women in the area have previously faced serious challenges during childbirth due to lack of access to mama kits and other basic maternal necessities.

‎They says mama kits help them during delivery  as they used to struggle without them, and this support has come at the right time.

‎Speaking during the donation, Mr. Bernard Otim Odoc, a lawyer by profession, emphasized his commitment to improving healthcare in the region, saying that a healthy population is key to community development.
‎In addition to healthcare, Mr. Otim announced a new initiative to offer free legal support, especially on land issues.

‎He revealed plans to bring legal experts to Maruzi North to provide community training and help resolve land disputes.

‎The legal support program is expected to launch in October this year.

‎As the third term of the academic year begins across Uganda this Monday, Mr. Otim—who has a track record of supporting education—also made a passionate appeal to parents in Lango Sub-region to prioritize sending their children back to school.

‎He expressed concern over the common practice in Lango, where some parents delay sending their children back to school for several days or even weeks after the term begins.

‎This report comes as part of our ongoing coverage of local leaders making an impact in their communities.

‎Mr otim is facing stiff competition from the incumbent mp Nelson Lemba Okello, the upc candidate for the 2026 parliamentary election.
