Lira City,Uganda|Otengeoro Olang clan has got a new Awitong who will replace Daniel Omara Atubo.
This was after secret voting of the Fort Portal City Clerk Ambrose Ocen winning his clan brother Patrick Okello Okok I’m peaceful election’s that took place on the 27.9.2025 at Lango cultural Centre.
The chairperson electoral commission of the clan Moses Ejor Ongom said it was an electoral college where 501 delegates  from different parts of Lango sub-region and some parts of Agago District, and Omoro in Acholi sub-region cast their  votes in a peaceful and transparent process.
Ocen Ambrose was casted with  322 votes representing 64.2% of the total votes while Patrick Okello Okok managed to get only 178 votes which is 35.5%.
Ocen derived from Amwoma Subcounty, Dokolo District.
Ocen Ambrose, after deceleration told the clan members that he’s ready to bring unity, development and making opportunities to other clan members most especially youth.
” My main focus in our clan I will handle develop of our own and support agriculture, and education “
Mr. Patrick Okello Okok gracefully conceded, acknowledging the fairness of the election and vowing to unite with the new Awitong.
Among others that was elected was George Kamara who secured 192 votes, leaving behind Okello Robert with 135 votes,Opio Isaac with 87 votes, Odongo Isaac Okello secured 28 votes and Okello Samuel Dulson with 33 votes.
The outgoing Awitong Hon Daniel Omara Atubu appealed to the clan to uphold wisdom in choosing leaders.
