A 36 year old man of Ayami subcounty in Lira district has committed suicide, his body was discovered today.
Speaking to our reporter, the LC1 Chairperson of Akwoyo village in Ayami subcounty, Santos Okello said the incident happened last night.
Okello said he received information that, Richard Okeng a resident of the same area committed suicide using a rope.
He said Okeng recently had a misunderstanding with his wife Nighty Tino 27 years accusing her of infidelity but the matter was even settled.
Okello said the lifeless body of Okeng was discovered at 9am by his sister who lives in Abala Agweng subcounty but had gone to Ayami this morning to visit her family members.
Thomas Obur, the LC3 chairperson of Ayami subcounty confirmed the incident adding that police have been informed to pick and hand over the body to the relatives for burial.
He added that this is not the first time someone in that family is committing suicide because some years back the deceased mother also committed suicide.
Meanwhile, Patrick Leng, the father of the deceased said the incident left them in shock because Okeng went to work yesterday and came back with no sign of sadness.
