Lira-City,Uganda|The territorial police of Lira-City Central Police Station conducted an intelligent led operations in the night of 12th Sept 2025 in the areas of Kitgum stage, Lira taxi park,Camp Swahli, Ipito aweno (pipe) and the surrounding of Lira Main Market and managed to apprehend 31 suspects and recovered with them house breaking implements, dangerous weapons used for robbery, dangerous drugs like opium, aviation fuel.
Police public relations officer for North Kyoga Jimmy Patrick Okema in a press statement released this evening said,the operation was done with help from local council and other operatives.
Okema assured the public that the security is ready to do operation in all corners with the help from the community around dangerious areas.
“All have been detained at the station as screening will be done and others will be investigated and charge accordingly.” Okema added.
This is one of the mob up operations which we shall continue not only within Lira-City but also other Districts within North Kyoga Region for a crime free society as one of our strategies.
