LIRA CITY, UGANDA – Former Oyam South parliamentary aspirant Queen Dorothy Amolo has unveiled an ambitious agenda centered on Artificial Intelligence (AI), asserting that the technology holds the key to tackling Uganda’s persistent challenges of corruption, unemployment, and poor service delivery .
Speaking to the Lango media at Pauline Hotel in Lira City on Monday, Amolo, a Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Engineer by training, argued that Uganda must harness emerging technologies to accelerate national development and compete globally .
“Artificial Intelligence is no longer the future - it is the present. Uganda must embrace AI if we are to reduce corruption, improve service delivery, create jobs, and compete with the rest of the world,” Amolo stated.
At the heart of her initiative is the impending launch of "256 AI Systems," a suite of digital platforms designed to foster transparency and economic growth. The flagship platform, "256AI," is intended to help citizens access information faster, improve communication, and connect them to opportunities .
The ecosystem also includes platforms such as 256Mall for e-commerce, 256Express for transport services, and 256 Link Shield, a cybersecurity tool designed to combat phishing and online fraud . Amolo revealed that her company has already developed more than 100 websites as part of this initiative .
A Direct Strike Against Corruption
Amolo positioned her technology as a powerful tool for enhancing governance. She argued that digital systems could strengthen transparency and accountability by tracking public expenditure and monitoring government operations in real-time .
In a significant policy pitch, she revealed that 256 AI Systems is willing to develop digital infrastructure for government institutions without requiring upfront payment. Instead, clients would only pay maintenance fees after deployment, a model designed to remove financial barriers to anti-corruption transparency .
“The systems could strengthen transparency and accountability by tracking public expenditure, reducing corruption and improving efficiency in sectors such as health, education and public administration through real-time monitoring of government operations, medicine distribution and staff attendance,” the company explained in a press briefing .
Job Creation and Digital Skills
Beyond governance, Amolo emphasized that the initiative is a massive engine for job creation. She highlighted a commitment to mentoring the next generation of Ugandan talent, providing them with the high-level digital skills needed to compete on the world stage .
Dr. Jason Boyle, a director and partner at 256 AI Systems, praised Amolo as a disciplined and visionary innovator . He noted that the platforms are intended to empower Ugandans by expanding opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and global connectivity .
Amolo also called on the Government of Uganda to invest significantly in AI technologies and digital innovation. She argued that many countries are already using Artificial Intelligence to drive economic transformation and that Uganda should position itself as a regional leader in digital innovation .
The "256" AI platform is scheduled for an official launch on 29th July 2026 in Kampala, where Amolo is expected to demonstrate how the technology can support business growth, improve communication, and expand access to information for Ugandans .
