ACCIDENT TOOK 16 LIVES IN LIRA CITY IN ONE MONTH
Sixteen residents of lira city have died through road accidents in one month.

Lira City,Uganda|Sixteen residents of lira city have died through road accidents in one month.
The government chief whip Hon.Denis Hamson Obua was giving the statistics to the people of Lango when representing president Yoweri kaguta Museveni in Amuca primary school during the send off ceremony of aprominet NRM supporter Lillian Tumsime Akaca who was knocked and rushed to the hospital but died from Mulago National Referral hospital in kampala
Obua said according to the Uganda traffic in Lango,16 died from Boroboro to Odomit in Lira City just within a month.
Obua said the main cause of all this accident is,over speeding,excitement,and indisplinbe of using the road.
After this rampant accident ministry of works have give order to motaengil to construct ahump within the busy centres from corner kakoge to Odokomit, nevertheless one person have died after putting the hump in less than one week with three on critical condition and they are all at Lira Regional Referral Hospital with broken legs and severe injuries.
Obua appealed to the road usher to change their attitude to know how to use the road and to be patient when using roads most especially in Lango since ther roads are being worked on and it’s very ok when using.
He requested the people of Lango to use the opportunity given to them wisely when it comes to cattle compenciation.
He said Museveni is ready to compenciate people of Lango per household but there are some people who want to jeopardize this,he assured the Lango people to be calm since all the process is on.
Obua also delivered 10million shillings given by president Museveni who is also the NRM chairman to JB lucky Akaca.
He assured the people of Lango on how Museveni is going to win the forthcoming election with a greater percentage in the 2026 general election compared to other political parties.
Among the 16 who died is Sam Steven Anyeko and his wife Gladys Anyeko,Lillian Akaca,one teacher of St kizito,Opio Dan of Kole among others.
