Soroti,Uganda|The Resident Judge Soroti High Court Honorable Justice Boniface Wamala has called on the general public to always follow their cases and make sure they are ever in touch with their witnesses in order for their cases to proceed in court.
Justice Wamala sounded this while meeting the District Police Officers and CID’s and prosecutors at the Stakeholders’ engagement forum on corruption and corruption related cases by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
He added that for any case to be strong in Court, witnesses and evidence must be there.
Wamala called on the public to rise up and fight the corrupt by reporting them to the relevant authority.
He described corruption as a cancer and people should not keep quiet but must be watch dogs.
He warned the Police to always protect the whistle blowers because these corrupt people are very dangerous and the threats can end up eliminating the life of the informer.
In the same development, the Chief Administrative Officer Kaberamaido Henry Ddamba called on the Office of the Director of Public Prostitutes to always take time and investigate the case before any arrest.
Ddamba said this is happening because many of the Officers have been embarrassed with unnecessary innocent arrest and when they are released, the public look at these Officers as the wrong element. This is making the informer scared of giving the information because suspects are arrested and released.
