APAC, UGANDA – In just six years since its inception, Apac Seed Secondary School has transformed from a nascent institution into a thriving educational powerhouse, recording significant milestones in infrastructure, academics, and sports, according to school administration.

Speaking to the press on July 10, 2026, the school's Head Teacher, Mr. Willy Opio, detailed the remarkable journey of the institution. Mr. Opio, who succeeded the initial caretaker Mr. James Akeba, highlighted the establishment of a formal school identity, including the composition of a school anthem, as a key step in building institutional culture. He also noted the ongoing construction of a perimeter wall fence aimed at enhancing security.

Infrastructure development has been a cornerstone of the school's progress. Mr. Opio confirmed that a new A-Level classroom block, featuring four offices, is currently at the plastering stage. Construction on the block commenced in the first term of 2026, and the Head Teacher expressed optimism that the project will be finalized before the end of the year.

"We are building for the future," stated Mr. Opio. "This new block is a testament to our commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for our advanced-level students."

In a significant administrative achievement, the school has been officially designated as a squared UNEB sitting center for A-Level examinations. This designation consolidates Apac Seed SS's status as a full-fledged examination hub, now hosting both O-Level and A-Level UNEB examinations on campus. The institution currently boasts a total enrollment of over 700 learners.

The school’s staffing has grown to 30 teachers, including five female educators, to manage the expanding student body. Mr. Opio credited the cooperative spirit of the parents for these developments, thanking them for their timely payment of school fees, which directly supports ongoing construction projects.

Looking ahead, the Head Teacher revealed plans to partner with the Apac District leadership to install electricity, aiming to power the school using a hybrid system of solar and grid energy. "This will ensure uninterrupted learning and allow us to integrate modern teaching technologies," he added.

Excellence in Sports and Leadership

Beyond the classroom, Apac Seed SS has proven its mettle on the field. The school excelled in both Ball Game One and Ball Game Two competitions, emerging as the USSSA 2026 Apac District Champions. Several students have been selected to represent the region at the national level, signaling the school's rising prominence in co-curricular activities.

New Student Leadership Elected

In related news, the school concluded the election of new student leaders on Friday, July 10, 2026. The newly elected prefects include:

  1. Head Prefect: Apali Jaspher (S.5)

  2. Head Boy: Okello Brian (S.3)

  3. Head Girl: Atim Elizabeth (S.3)

  4. UNSA President: Okello Gabriel (S.5)

  5. Speaker: Ebong Edward

Mr. Wilfred Omara, the teacher in charge of student elections, advised the incoming leaders to demonstrate hard work and unwavering commitment to their duties. He also urged the entire student body to maintain discipline and uphold the positive image of the school.

"The foundation is strong, and the trajectory is upward," concluded Mr. Opio. "With continued support from the district, parents, and staff, Apac Seed SS is destined for even greater heights."
