COPLES SUCCUMBED IN ROAD ACCIDENT IN AKALO,CHILD IN CRITICAL CONDITION.
The territorial police in Kole District have registered a fatal accident at Akalo Comprehensive School along Lira-Aduku road in Kole District on the 24th Sept 2025 at around 1900 hours.

Kole,Uganda|The territorial police in Kole District have registered a fatal accident at Akalo Comprehensive School along Lira-Aduku road in Kole District on the 24th Sept 2025 at around 1900 hours.
Public relations officer for North Kyoga Jimmy Patrick Okema said the motor vehicle Reg No UBL 284U belonging to Gulsan construction company, loaded with stones had a tires bust and was parked along the way, unfortunately a Motorcycle No UEW 711E Bajaj being ridden by a yet to be identified person while carrying a woman and a child ramped into the stationary vehicle from behind and two got seriously injured and later passed on spot but the child is alive and rushed to Lira Regional referral hospital for treatment but in a critical condition.
Scene was visited by police officers in Akalo police station.
Body picked and conveyed to the mortuary at Lira Regional Referral Hospital pending Post mortem.Mv still at the scene pending removal.
Okema said the cause of the accident was Careless riding,he also assured the people of lango that numbers of accidents are happening in lango and most of them are caused by1. Sudden or poor turning on the road by motorists,2. Sudden entrance from the road side,3. Over speeding,4. Careless driving or over taking and Poor weather conditions.
The police appeal to the road users to observe road safety rules and regulations, avoid waiting to see a traffic officer, then pretend to be following traffic rules and above all, let’s be self-driven.
