THE OGORA CLAN LEADERS KILLED THEIR OWN SON FOR STEALING GOATS.

The territorial police in Lira District have arrested five people to support investigating murder by mob of one identified as Otodi Solomon aged 28 yrs old a residents of Okeno Village, Angolocom Parish, Agweng Sub-County, Lira District.

 

The territorial police in Lira District have arrested five people to support investigating murder by mob of one identified as Otodi Solomon aged 28 yrs old a residents of Okeno Village, Angolocom Parish, Agweng Sub-County, Lira District.

It was alleged that on the 1st Oct 2025 at around 12 midnight while Ayugi Rose Ogwang of Okeno village was inside her house sleeping she heard her goats making noise,

Immediately she came out to check and found 02 goats were missing and there was a motorcycle moving, she made an alarm and people came out gathered and started chasing the moving motorcycle and 01 goat felt off from the motor cycle and the owner confirmed it’s her stolen goat, hence he was followed and was confirmed to be Otodi Solomon now the deceased,

At about 5AM the clan leaders of Ogora clan went and arrested him, interrogated him and he confessed to have stolen the goats and taken the missing one to Ayeni Sam of Alenga village, the clan leaders got annoyed and started beating him, where he sustained injuries and allegedly died later.

LCI Ocen Augustine was informed and later reported to Agweng Town Council police station.A report of murder by mob action was registered at Agweng Town Council police station  Scene of crime was visited and documented with the help of Soco for statement recording from relevant witnesses.

05 people were arrested and includes; Ayugi Rose Ogwang the owner of the goat, Okec Martin, Otim Bosco, Omara Santao all clan leaders and Minyang Francis the father to the deceased were all arrested to help police investigations.Body of the deceased was convyed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital’s mortuary on for postmortem.

It’s yet another unfortunate incident,  according to asp jimmy Patrick okema the pro north kyoga  we continue to appeal to the general public and clan leaders to respect the rule of law and support police investigation by reporting suspected criminals for arrest and prosecution.
