Kaberamaido,Uganda|Five suspects are on the run over alleged assaulting visitors during a traditional marriage in Kaberamaido District.
The District Police Commander Kaberamaido,David Otabong confirmed to our reporter the investigation and hunting for five suspects who were still on the run for the alleged crime.
The incident happened last Saturday at Openo cell,Abalang parish,Oryamo Sub county, Kaberamaido district.
According to the police, some group of youth from the nearby cell also joined the venue where the traditional marriage ceremonies were happening without the consent of the family members.
Towards midnight when all the public address systems were switched off and packed, this group of youth stormed the visitors who were from Akalo Town council Kole District demanding for fresh connection of the music systems since the day was meant for them.
The chairperson LC1 of the cell said the traditional marriage was taking place at the home of Jacob Engwedo but they all disappeared before the scenarios started leading to assaulting the visitors from Kole.
He arrived at the scene and reported to Gisu and police after learning that two of the visitors were stabbed with sharp objects.
George Ogweng a resident of Eastern ward,Akalo Town council Kole District said they went for marriage with a public address system and when the program ended around Saturday midnight, they packed the public address system to get back home though the group of these people waylaid them.
Among those left with injuries are Isaac Okwir of 22yrs and Santo Onapa and other 9 were all rushed to Dokolo Health centre 1V.
The prime suspect are on the run according to police.
