30 SUSPECTS APPREHENDED BY POLICE DOG IN DOKOLO DISTRICT.

Dokolo,Uganda|Police in Dokolo District have credited their Dog for helping them to arrest a number of suspects within the community.
Dokolo resident have been leaving in a sorry state after numbers of gangs being arise within the town council and other sub-county around
Between January to August this year the canine unit at Dokolo Central Police Station tracked and helped apprehend 30 male suspects.
Cpl. Alex Odeke, an officer in charge of Dog in Dokolo central police stationĀ  said the community have been complaining to the security after getting a number of theft cases and breaking of houses within the town council.
The cases range from theft and murder to arson and other criminal activities reported in different parts of the district.
Cpl. Odeke said the sniffer dog has eased investigative work by helping law enforcement identify and arrest suspects.
He, however, urged residents to always preserve scenes of crime, warning that tampering with evidence can frustrate investigations.
Police have also announced that on Friday, September 12, 2025, a public demonstration will be held at Dokolo Central Police Station to showcase how the sniffer dog operates.
