COUPLES PERISH IN ROAD ACCIDENT AT JUBA ROAD LIRA CITY.

Lira city,Uganda|The territorial police in Lira-City West Division under the traffic department are investigating a fatal accident that occurred on the 11th Sept 2025 along Juba road at around 2030 hours.

It’s alleged that vehicle registration number KCP 773P/ZF 8452 fuel tank was from Kamdini side heading to Lira-City, upon reaching Juba road at the junction of Ober road a motorcycle Reg No UDZ 717W bajaj which was from Lira-City heading towards Kamdini side tried to dorge unknown pedestrian who was crossing the road from Ober junction while running, however the rider lost control crossed in the process and crossed to the line of vehicles heading to town and eventually entered the fuel tank head on, The rider who was carrying his wife all died on spot.

Scene visited by our officers from both Central and City West Division.

Two bodies of Anyeko Sam and wife who is a nurse at Charis medical centre lira were picked and conveyed to Lira Regional Referral mortuary pending postmortem.

The two machines (M/v and M/C) towed to Lira City West police parking yard pending IOV inspection,the driver is still at large.
